SportMotion Green Tower Review: Is This Luxury Gym in Santa Cruz Worth It?

On Saturday, August 16, I checked out SportMotion, the luxury gym inside Green Tower in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. I’d heard it was sleek, premium, and totally different from your average gym. So I went to see if it really lives up to the hype, here’s the full breakdown: equipment, vibe, Pilates, and whether it’s worth the price.

My experience at SportMotion Green Tower

Vibe & space: modern, spotless, with a more exclusive crowd and fewer people, perfect if you like to train without chaos.

Equipment: high-quality and brand-new, but limited options for glute training.

Pilates: included in the membership, but no reformer machine, which makes it less complete.

Staff: super friendly and professional.

Location: inside Green Tower, Equipetrol, upscale and convenient if you’re nearby, less so if you’re coming from far away.

Price: 520 Bs per month, pretty standard for a premium gym in Santa Cruz.

Pros

  • Clean, modern space with a private feel
  • Not crowded → you don’t have to fight for machines
  • Great location (Green Tower)
  • Pilates classes included (even without reformer)

Cons

  • Few glute-focused machines
  • Pilates without reformer
  • Location may not work for everyone
  • Only one of each of the most popular machines (Smith and leg press). During peak hours, you might have to wait or share equipment, which makes me think twice about paying a premium price. Personally, I hate when my workout flow gets interrupted by having to wipe down everything quickly or split sets with someone jumping in.

Cost-benefit: Is it worth it?

If you want a premium, low-key environment, SportMotion delivers. But if you’re serious about heavy glute training or full Pilates with reformer, you might feel limited and end up waiting during busy times.

Overall rating: 7.5/10
Great gym if you value comfort and privacy, but it could really use more machine variety.
